Grove Piece, Duntisbourne Leer
MEP was instructed by a private client to obtain planning permission for the conversion of a disused, wooden clad stable building to a residential use.
The site is located outside of the main built-up area of Duntisbourne Leer which is a small village, not identified as a settlement for development within the local plan. However, the
site is close to the existing houses and is, therefore, not isolated.
The site is located within the Cotswold National Landscape and affects the setting of a conservation area.
The MEP team submitted the application and obtained a positive officer recommendation. The proposal was however refused by the Planning Committee on grounds relating to highway and landscape matters.
MEP were then instructed to appeal and provided a compelling case demonstrating that the proposal complied with relevant national and local planning policy.
The appeal was allowed and planning permission was obtained.
