We are seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic and career-oriented senior planner to join our forward thinking team located within the beautiful market town of Tetbury, Gloucestershire.  

Based in Tetbury, a market town located in the Cotswolds, MEP is a specialist town planning consultancy comprising a compact team which delivers innovative services for clients; planning and regeneration, research, leading-edge engagement, strategy and policy development.  Involved in a range of projects including eco towns, large urban extensions, rural estates, residential and commercial development, MEP works on projects across a wide range of locations within the UK.

As a small business, MEP can be more flexible and adaptable than larger practices, providing an exemplary planning service to its clients. This is therefore an exciting and excellent opportunity to join a growing and ambitious company within a role which offers progression and professional development.

The Roles

  • Hybrid, based out of offices in Tetbury.
  • Co-ordinating the preparation and negotiation of large-scale and complex mixed use residential and/or commercial planning applications.
  • Leading and managing a wide range of pre-application enquiries, planning applications and planning appeals, which may involve co-ordinating a multi-disciplinary team of consultants.
  • Shaping the promotion strategies for development projects.
  • Supporting colleagues in larger, strategic projects.
  • Managing project case loads, including pre-application enquiries, planning applications, applications for LBC, appeals and local plan reps.

The Right Person

  • Good understanding of UK planning system.
  • Degree in Town Planning or related discipline, and RTPI qualified.
  • Desire to work in a small but fast-growing company.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong work ethic
  • Full driving licence
