Another appeal win – conversion of stables to residential use.

11 February 2026

MEP is delighted to have secured planning permission for the conversion of an existing timber clad disused stable building to residential use at Duntisbourne Leer, Gloucestershire.

Despite obtaining a positive officer recommendation, members of the Cotswold District Council Planning Committee were minded to refuse the application on grounds relating to highway and landscape matters.

The MEP team provided a compelling case at appeal, demonstrating that the proposal complied with relevant planning policy, would not result in an unacceptable impact on highway safety and would cause no harm to the character and appearance of the area, giving special regard to the Cotswold National Landscape.

The Inspector agreed with the findings of MEP and allowed the appeal.
