Hinnegar Woods, South Glos
The proposal was for the change of use of woodland to children’s forest education area allowing for up to 500 students. The camps will provide outdoor education and recreation for children from schools both within the Gloucestershire area as well as further afield. The camp area includes central kitchen area, admin area, access, bus turning, toilet and showers and bin provision.
The site is located in an area of woodland to the north of the Badminton Estate.
Falling within the setting of the Grade I listed Badminton House Registered Park and Garden and within the setting Grade II* listed building, the site is sensitive in heritage terms. It also falls within the Cotswold National Landscape
MEP formulated a specialist team of consultants and lead the planning application.
