The site is outside the development boundary, located in a rural position and affects the setting of a heritage asset.
Our role
- Undertook a site appraisal.
- Devised a planning strategy to meet the objectives of the client.
- Worked with an architect to design a sensitively designed scheme which reflected the agricultural character of the site and had regard to the site’s location within the setting of a Grade II listed building.
- Prepared and submitted a pre-application enquiry that shows the demolition of the existing barn and its replacement with two sympathetically designed dwellings.
- Prepared and submitted a planning application that responded to the pre-application advice.
- Prepared for and attended a Parish Council meeting to discuss the proposals and respond to any queries.
- Monitored the planning application and attended the Planning Committee meeting.
Outcomes
A pre-application response was is received by the Forest of Dean District Council which supported the principle of the proposed development.
A planning application responding to the pre-application response and considering the proposals against relevant case law and planning policies was submitted to and approved by the Council.
