Barn Conversion at Clayfurlong Kemble

Background

The site forms part of a large rural estate in the Cotswolds. Located near Kemble, our client’s objective is to convert a large modern former agricultural barn, which is currently surplus to requirements. MEP recognised the potential to secure optimum value of the site following recent legislative changes.

  • Undertake site visit and carry out a detailed site appraisal identifying site constraints and opportunities
  • Assess suitability of barn for Class Q
  • Organise and lead a consultant team
  • Formulate a planning strategy

Outcomes

Submission of a planning justification report which has provided comprehensive written justification for the proposed development against the requirements set out within Class Q, Part 3, Schedule 2 of the GPDO and the PPG.
