World Town Planning Day 2025.

As part of the annual celebration, 𝗠𝗘𝗣 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗱𝗹𝘆 𝗵𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 that invites local pupils from schools across the Cotswolds to design a sustainable new town that embodies the very best in innovative, eco-friendly planning. 🌿🏙️

Each year, this competition grows, and so does our admiration for the creativity, passion, and depth of understanding shown by such young, talented minds. 💡 This year’s entries blew us away with concepts like carbon diamonds 💎, health-centred communities, and even solar satellites with mirrors. 🛰️ All showcasing a bold, thoughtful vision for a greener, more resilient future.

🎉After some incredibly close judging, we’re thrilled to reveal this year’s 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀:

🏆 𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲: 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿’𝘀 𝗧𝗼𝘄𝗻 — A visionary community powered entirely by renewable energy, featuring an ingenious concept using satellite mirrors to boost solar power!

🥈 𝟮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲: 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗺 — A town built from bamboo!  This eco-innovator integrates agriculture, transport, and water systems into one harmonious, sustainable ecosystem.

🥉 𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝟯𝗿𝗱 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲:

𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗹𝗲 — Envisioned as a health-focused town, thoughtfully designed to preserve and nurture the natural environment.

𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗧𝗼𝘄𝗻 — A self-sufficient, low-carbon community built to thrive sustainably and responsibly.

Moments like these remind us why good planning matters and how the next generation of visionaries will shape the sustainable places of tomorrow, maybe even powered by Carbon Diamonds 💎!

Winners were rewarded with vouchers from the local book shop in Cheltenham.
