Robert Beale

Before starting at Morgan Elliot Planning in 2023, Robert achieved a first-class undergraduate degree in Geography BA at the University of Southampton. Following a passion for the built environment, Robert then pursued the RTPI-accredited Urban Design and Planning master’s course at the University of Sheffield where he achieved a Distinction. A desire to investigate health and planning’s relationship led to exploring urban regenerations potential for providing greater physical activity opportunities as the final dissertation’s topic.

Whilst studying, Robert embarked on valuable work experience in both the public and private sector. The experience includes published work on the distinction between the urban-rural continuum presented to the European Commission. Robert also attained a runner-up position in the CIH Futures National Housing Challenge.

Robert has progressed rapidly through his career path, progressing from Assistant Planner, through to Planner then Senior Planner. Robert’s key responsibilities at MEP include producing design statements, preparing planning appraisals, leading, submitting and monitoring planning applications and maintaining community engagement,

Alongside his role at Morgan Elliot Planning, Robert is an active member of the Bristol Young Planners Committee, where he participates in coordinating CPD and networking events. Robert has also presented the importance of the profession to several universities, as part of his ambition to attract future talent into the industry.

Beyond planning, Robert is an avid gym goer, enjoys attending events with friends, and begrudgingly supports Norwich City FC.
